“A wise man once said, necessity is the mother of invention,” mused Pottsman, eager to share the pedagogical motivations behind his decision to not pay for an actual plumber. “Since these three roommates all share one bathroom, the lack of a functional toilet will really kickstart their creativity.”

“Schools don’t teach anything practical anymore,” said Pottsman, adding that his lazy tenants had also apparently never learned basic mold removal skills. “I’m probably the first person to tell these people that it’s time to take a long, hard look in the mirror and teach yourself how to fix a toilet.”

“The fact of the matter is that if an ‘expert’ comes in and does something for my tenants, they’ll never really understand how it works,” remarked Pottsman, demonstrating his dedication to hands-on, project-based education. “The real learning happens when tenants can get in there and get their own hands dirty.”
At press time, Pottsman was benevolently allowing his tenants to enjoy a swim in their unit’s flooded basement, free of charge.
