“I think that studying APMA-ECON really sets me up for success because it allows me to learn about the intersections of these diverse fields,” stated Murphy, whose degree really only squeezed in introductory understanding for both Applied Math and Economics. “It also looks really good on a resume for Morgan Stanley.”

“It is so sad that other schools don’t have this degree. I don’t know what I would study if there was no APMA-ECON at Brown,” continued Murphy, who could have just double-concentrated in Applied Math and Economics separately to actually understand these different subjects. “I feel like I learned the perfect amount during my time in college.”

At press time, Murphy said his degree name very slowly during his McKinsey interview so his recruiter would believe he double-majored.
