“I’ve been so busy lately,” McManus admitted, scanning her bookshelf for that novel she’s been meaning to read. “But now I think it’s finally time to indulge myself, take a breath, and pick up a good book. That book is, of course, The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt.”

According to sources close to the matter, McManus has been excitedly talking about “burying her nose” in The Goldfinch ever since it hit The New York Times bestseller list in 2013.

“I just love the idea of settling down after a long day with The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt — along with a big glass of red wine, of course,” McManus continued, giggling conspiratorially. “I’m such a book person. This weekend I’m going to make space for some me time and satisfy my love of literature with a dose of Donna Tartt’s The Goldfinch."

At press time, McManus was taking a much-needed break after successfully finishing the first three pages.
