“Yeah, it’s actually my birthday today,” Slone informed the waitress immediately after she introduced herself to the table, his mastery in the art of deception on display. “Sorry for asking, but do I get any sort of discount on this meal?”

Slone’s dinner guests reportedly watched on as the waitress reached for her order pad and pen. “Yeah, I’ll make sure to take 50% off your meal,” she said, Slone concealing every bit of his perfectly orchestrated plan. “Now could I get you anything to start off with other than water?”

Despite concerns that the waitress would require a form of identification to verify Slone’s date of birth—a slight mishap for which he would have simply forgotten his ID—the entire meal progressed without issue, allowing the great manipulator of minds to enjoy his cheeseburger.

Capping off an evening of exceptional subterfuge, Slone produced a convincing smile as the wait staff brought out a free sundae and began to sing.
