Containing sections on carpentry, leather tanning, and bow hunting, the report cautions that too many Americans sit and watch the world pass them by, when they really should be getting out there and feeling it.
“Our studies have shown that Americans would rather sit at a computer than build a chair,” said Secretary of Labor Thomas Perez, gesturing with his strong, calloused hands. “That’s all wrong. Our hands are the most powerful tools we’re given, and we owe it to God to make something beautiful. Something that’s ours."
In a companion report released by the United States Department of Health and Human Services, the department recommended that Americans designate at least one night out of every week “me night,” devoted to taking care of what truly matters: themselves.
