“I thought it was an excellent film,” said viewer John Baker, stifling a big yawn. “His masterful use of slow-moving, black-and-white pictures truly set the scene. He’s a genius.”

“The film was very thought-provoking,” said Mia Cochran, still waking up after dozing off during the screening. “Could he have gone on for longer? Definitely. He’s an amazing director who can make any subject endlessly interesting.”

“It was a real intellectual journey,” said another viewer, Blake Thompson, whose phone died on him in the middle of episode 5. “Ken Burns is our generation’s greatest documentarian. It was really special.”

At press time, everybody was pretending that they were excited for Ken Burns’ latest film Country Music.
