“I experimented with a lot of different options, but I finally decided on this rainbow curvy font,” Jacobs said, testing out what the title looked like in all caps. “It really speaks to the creative aspect of Frindle.”

After finally selecting which bubble letters she would use, Jacobs spent another 15 minutes adjusting the placement of the title and playing around with different shadows, highlights, and contours.

“I decided to put the title a little off center to highlight that Frindle is about not following rules,” Jacobs added. “I also added a shadow at 43% intensity on the left-side, and custom-made my own light purple glow around each letter.”

Jacobs reported that though she is proud of her paragraph summarizing Frindle, she knows the title will really grab the reader’s attention and make her book report stand out.

At press time, Jacobs was using color ink to print her final book report, which was about half a page long.
