Health Services To Treat Flu With Trips To Shore For Rousing Sea Air

“A change of air is simply what I require,” murmured sophomore Anne Mansfield from her sickbed, forlornly gazing out of her frosty window and placing her hand on her wan cheek. “My constitution has suffered greatly from the tepid ventilation in my chambers.”

“Fortunately, I have been permitted to make the journey to Newport for a sojourn of six weeks so that my lungs might be refreshed,” added Mansfield, beginning to dress herself in her thickest woolen petticoat for her daily stroll along the shore. “The nurse says I may even get a bit of my color back, should I stay here long enough.”

At press time, Health Services staff were suggesting that if the sea air did not improve her condition, they would prescribe Mansfield a healthy dose of opium.
