“Parker, I don’t think you understand just how good this party was,” said Twole’s friend Sue Larter, repeating a point she had brought up countless times before. “The basement was the perfect amount of crowded. Like everyone we wanted to see was there but it wasn’t so jampacked that it ever felt like a safety hazard. Ahhhh I can’t believe you missed it.”

According to Twole, his friends feigned interest in his semester in Spain the first two weeks he was back but, after that, all their conversations with him just became about everything he missed on campus. He added that often when he’s explaining his experiences abroad, he notices his friends looking at each other and smiling, still spellbound by that one John Street party.

“It was so much better than any parties we went to freshman or sophomore year,” Larter kept reporting. “The music was amazing but different than other parties we’ve been to. There was so much alcohol, like more than any other party we’ve been to together. It was dancey but never tiring like other parties I’ve gone to with you have been. Oh, and I saw Taylor there and we hooked up. It was just the perfect storm of good things. You had to be there just to fully grasp how good it was.”

“Even Jo’s was really awesome when we stopped by there that night.”
