Kasich Announces Plan To Rest Here In The Snow, Just For A Moment

“I haven’t made it this far into the primaries just to give up,” said the weary Ohio governor, his voice slurring more and more as night began to settle over the clearing where he lay. “And that’s not what I’m doing. I’m just… so tired. I just… need a moment to rest my feet.”

“Mother, is that you? …Mother?” added Kasich, referring to the spectral figure of his late mother who hovered above him, invisible to all others. “You look so young. Yes… I will take your hand. It’s so soft. Take me away from all of this. We won’t have to think about delegates where we’re going, will we?”

Kasich Campaign Manager Matt Carle reassured supporters in an email that the candidate’s unscheduled moment of rest was only the next step for the campaign and asked supporters to look and see if they could see a new star shining in the sky that night.
