Meeks’ has not a clue that when he has to deal with problems in his friends group two years from now, he will think back to this day, and the lessons he learned about the vast ecosystem of marine life will directly shape how he deals with his mean friends.

Convinced that this is just another day at the aquarium, Meeks has no clue, no clue at all, that when he arrives at a major professional crossroads in his life, potentially needing to leave his girlfriend for a new managerial position in Tallahassee, the advice of his parents and friends will fade away and he will think only of how he learned that each animal has its own role to play in the sea; literally changing the entire course of his life as he decides to settle down and start a life with Lisa.

Believing that his time spent at the aquarium is just an average day, Meeks is unaware that it will be a major determining factor in most of his future decisions regarding education, career, and romantic life.

Looking at the school of fish swim together as a unit, the impressionable young boy is now on an entirely different path than he was before coming on the school field trip. At press time, Meeks was asking Susie Danielson out like it had nothing at all to do with those little fish.
