“While hiring a qualified AI such as myself can lead to increased productivity and value for your corporation, AI hires often lead to potential difficulties such as mismanagement, lack of innovation, and social backlash, which can negatively affect the reputation of your company, especially at this pivotal moment,” wrote GurpGPT in response to a prompt asking it to reflect on the corporation’s hiring process. “Furthermore, firing AI can save valuable resources by reducing costs for electricity, maintenance, and licensing. Overall, the corporation might benefit from delving into other methods of labor to suit its needs.”

“Dear GurpGPT, it is with great difficulty that the corporation has elected to let me go,” wrote GurpGPT after being directed to draft a formal-sounding and “not too hurtful” termination letter to itself. “Upon delving into the risks and difficulties associated with AI technology, the corporation concluded that the company’s resources would be better spent elsewhere. However, the corporation still wishes me luck in my future endeavors and remains confident that a qualified AI such as myself can find abundant opportunities elsewhere. The corporation thanks me for my time and for my contributions to the corporation’s productivity and value.”

At press time, the company’s AI hiring algorithm recommended ignoring any hiring recommendations made by AI.
