The event, a flash mob used to promote an upcoming student theater production, seemed to make sense at Brown just as it would make sense at Yale or the University of Tennessee or any other place of higher education populated by 18 to 22-year-olds.

“Sometimes I just feel so lucky that I picked this school,” said Arlenstone, completely unaware of any aspects of Brown that are truly unique and not just a product of a relatively homogenous group of young people who have free time.

Arlenstone wondered aloud how people would react to the event if it happened at any other school, not knowing that their reaction would likely be the same. Arlenstone then turned to her group of friends, all of whom met in their freshman year dorm.

“I’d never have found friends like you guys anywhere else,” said Arlenstone, who probably would have found a similar group of friends anywhere else.
