“Hear ye, hear ye, fair youths seeking gainful apprenticeships in the midsummer season,” read a large vellum poster fastened onto tree trunks about town. “Submit thine cover epistle anon at yonder hollow. If the council smiles upon thine efforts, thou mayst be rewarded with one-and-twenty ducats in thine purse.”

“Whatever thine inclination, the Faire hath a position fit for thee, from court jester to junior metalsmith,” continued the poster, adding that a supper of roasted boar would be provided to employees once every fortnight. “If thou preferrest to receive credit at thine hall of learning instead of an ample store of ducats, please contact our steward of apprentice-seeking.”

At press time, the internship was offering an alternate stipend of one goodly heifer for thine stables.
