“On an unrelated note,” Loughlin triumphantly declared, firing the first shot to topple the class’s power structure. “I was hoping to raise the topic of the protagonist’s sexuality.”

Other students, inspired by Loughlin’s bravery and boldness, quickly took to the cause and piggybacked on her comment, eager to join the discussion and participate in a long-overdue regime change.

“Actually, I’d like to hear what people have to say about an issue that was raised earlier in class,” Loughlin announced, fearlessly seizing control of the seminar discussion and encouraging others to join her cause in upending the section’s unjust status quo. “Let’s get the ball rolling, hear some new voices, hear some new ideas!”

At press time, another student competing for power and influence incited a counter-insurgency by pushing back against Loughlin’s comment.
