Bateson related that, leaving the Sciences Library on a Friday afternoon, he noticed a stack of sandy gray newspapers lying on a table. “I thought they were the latest Brown Noser,” Bateson noted. “I thought it would be fun to read. It had been a while since the last one.”

“But when I opened the paper,’ continued Bateson, explaining how bummed he was by his mistake, "There weren’t any jokes. It was just some piece about planned renovations in Emory Woolley and another about the club hockey team. You know, I’ve been here for four years but this is the first time I’ve actually taken a BDH.”

“Oh well, maybe I’ll stumble upon some juicy op-eds that slipped through the editorial process,” Bateson wistfully remarked.
