“Ted Lasso is exactly the type of show we as a country need right now,” writes Vox television critic Anders Candler. “A show about kindness, Ted Lasso reminds all of us that Apple apparently has a streaming service now and makes, like, full-on TV shows. That’s something we all can learn.”

Critics like Candler agree that Ted Lasso has the power to unite an increasingly divided nation. Ted Lasso demonstrates that people from all walks of life, who may think they have nothing in common, have apparently been paying monthly for Apple’s online TV network for years.

“Ted Lasso has a lot of lessons to teach all of us,” continues Candler. “Once you learn that Apple TV+ exists, you’ll soon learn that, apparently, there’s an M. Night Shyamalan show starring Harry Potter’s Rupert Grint called Servant that’s been airing on Apple TV+ for four years. Wow. This is knowledge that most people might go their whole lives without knowing, but Ted Lasso gives us this crucial perspective.”

At press time, critics have also praised the new sitcom Ghosts as an important reminder that CBS still exists.
