Ever since the family watched The Imitation Game, Frankel has been referring to pioneering mathematician and computer scientist Alan Turing as “Alan.” “You’d think she knew the guy,” said Frankel’s son Jesse, explaining that his mother has been talking frequently about “Alan” for the past few days.

“It’s a shame more people don’t know that Alan helped win the war,” Frankel was heard saying to her husband on Monday. “He worked so hard, and he was going through so much.”

“All it took was a two-hour movie to make her completely comfortable speaking about this guy like he was a close friend,” said Jesse, noting his mother’s insistence that Turing had a great heart. “She didn’t know who Alan Turing was a week ago, and now she keeps saying that Benedict Cumberbatch ‘captured Alan’s spirit so well.’”

At press time, Frankel was dishing intimately about “Martin” after a family movie night screening of Selma.
