What’s his name, that actor from that TV show or something, recognized himself this afternoon, but couldn’t remember what he knew himself from.
“Maybe I saw myself in a commercial, or I had a bit part on Law and Order SVU?” whatever his name is asked himself, inspecting his uncannily familiar and yet conspicuously unplaceable face in a mirror. “Oh, give me a minute, it’ll come to me,” he added.
According to himself, whoever he is has one of those actor faces that people recognize but just can’t quite place, like he was in one of those Mastercard commercials, or the movie Independence Day, or that soap opera with the doctors that live together in a house.
“Don’t tell me,” he insisted. “Celebrity Mole? Julie and Julia? That ‘¿Accidentes?’ bus ad with the mysteriously smiling man? No,” he concluded, sighing. “I guess I don’t know myself from anywhere.”
After a series of failed attempts to place himself, what’s-his-face from whatever finally asked his manager, Lawrence Schilling, if he knew him from something. “You’re probably Matt Le Blanc,” said Schilling. “No wait. I know. Don’t tell me, don’t tell me. Boom. I’ve got it. You’re Brendan fucking Fraser!”
After recognizing himself, Brendan Fraser still could not remember what he knew himself from but did remember kind of liking himself in that one movie with what’s her name and that kid from whatever it was.
