Providence resident and middle manager Christopher Harlan created a blog last weekend whilst self-reportedly “feeling a little crazy.” The website, registered through the free service WordPress, is largely a collection of disorganized musings, low-resolution pictures, and inspirational quotations. Harlan’s inaugural post, entitled “Well, Here Goes Nothing…”, garnered 22 views with the first few hours of its being posted. “I don’t expect success straight away,” said Harlan. “But I’m optimistic. Maybe if I stick with it two, three years, people will come to relate to my unique point of view.” Other recent entries include a Top-10-albums-of-the-decade-list, a photo album from Harlan’s recent vacation, and a review of the movie Ice Age: Continental Drift.
Harlan’s website is located at the domain name www.christopherharlan84.wordpress.com, www.christopherharlan.wordpress.com already having been taken by a well-regarded taxidermy hobbyist site. Not to be outdone, Harlan cleverly inserted his birth year into the web address. “I think that really makes it more specific. I’m betting that other Chris Harlan is now wishing he’d thought to do this.” Harlan also noted that the name makes the website easier to Google for former classmates wondering what he might have been up to in the years after Lincoln Senior High School.
At press time, Harlan was debating whether or not to shill out the money for a premium template.
