With a sinking feeling, area woman Jane D’Esta, is slowly realizing the only way out of this bad story is to completely lie about what happens next.
“So, THEN, a cop comes around the corner and says: ‘Ma’am, no surfing in the zoo!’” exclaimed D’Esta to a round of raucous laughter from listeners who were spared the real end of the story where Jane and her friends just have a normal day at the zoo. “And so we’re all sprinting past the lion enclosure, and the lions start roaring, which obviously sets the monkeys off, and they start hollering, and…”
“But then we get to the front gate, and who’s standing there? My dad. And he’s been there. The. Whole. Time. He just about disowned me,” continued D’Esta to her crowd of enraptured listeners who thankfully didn’t have to hear the real story about how Jane’s dad came to pick them up and was actually really happy to do so. “If we’d been in that zoo ten more minutes, him and I would probably be estranged!”
At press time, local man realizing only way into dream job is lying about everything that’s happened in his life thus far.
