Astronaut Late To Space Again

Published Friday, March 11th, 2016

According to recent reports from NASA, astronaut Jason Bukowski was late to space for the fifth time since he was hired in April less than a year ago.

During the first incident last May, Bukowski reportedly arrived 36 hours late to space, unshaven and seemingly frazzled, apologizing profusely, reporting that his wife had accidentally taken his rocket ship keys to work with her.

“I let it slide the first time,” said Frank Wieners, Bukowski’s supervisor. “You’d be hard-pressed to find an astronaut that hasn’t happened to. But I hope I didn’t give him the impression that NASA takes that kind of thing lightly.”

The second tardiness, only three weeks after the first, confirmed Wiener’s fears. Bukowski showed up to space 72 hours late, casually eating astronaut ice cream. He apologized curtly, stating that his rocket ship had broken down and run out of oxygen on his way to space.

“A few Earth days late might not seem like that much,” said Wieners of the incident. “But since each orbit around the Earth is only about 90 minutes, you’re actually missing hundreds of sunsets and sunrises. So Jason was actually several years late.”

Though the astronaut’s unprofessional behavior is no longer going unnoticed, Bukowski maintains a cavalier attitude about his performance. “I guess I just spaced out,” said the spaceman smiling.

Further reports indicate that Bukowski further aggravated the situation when he showed up last Wednesday without his spacesuit on, a perk that NASA reserves strictly for Fridays.
