Barista Utterly Drenched In Sweat

Published Friday, November 4th, 2016

Sources at Big Mike’s Coffee in Fox Point reported Wednesday that area barista Derek Meyersohn was completely soaked in sweat.

Customers at the small coffee shop speculated that Meyersohn was approaching his espresso-pulling with such gusto that he was becoming physically exhausted, and sweating what appeared to be an inappropriate amount for the work he was doing.

“I always knew being a barista was physically demanding but this dude really takes it to the next level,” said Latavia Thomas, who said she worked as a barista for a few years in college and can’t remember breaking a sweat once. “See how he’s really pounding the filter holder against the little hole where the spent grounds go? You definitely do not need to do that.”

“Maybe I should talk to his supervisor,” she finished, before cringing as the motion sent sweat flying from the barista’s clenched hands.

“He clearly is putting his all into his work but come on,” said Daniel Neel, watching from the other side of the room. “His hair is getting all slick under that beanie from all the running behind the bar. Jesus. That can’t be sanitary."

Sources added that, aw Christ, sweat was running down Meyersohn’s arms and was probably getting flicked into the drinks as he poured his intricate latte art with a flourish. At press time, sources were shuddering at the very thought of it.
