Busy Student Makes Time To Slow Down And Feel Anxious

Published Friday, April 29th, 2016

Sources confirmed that overworked student Abby Harrison ‘18 took time out of her busy day to sit at home and feel really anxious.

Harrison told reporters that despite spending the afternoon running from acappella rehearsal to mock trial to the library, she made sure to schedule a full half hour to sit with the rush of thoughts and worries that are basically the only thing keeping her going at this point.

“It’s nice to just sit in silence every once in a while,” Harrison said, fidgeting on her dorm room chair and panting heavily.

On days when Harrison is too busy to feel totally overwhelmed with anxiety, she makes sure to listen to music on her way to class in a futile effort to distract herself from the crowd of bodies whose constant motion terrifies and disorients her.

“It’s a great way to catch up on podcasts, too,” Harrison said, referring to the radio shows she can never focus on because of the torrent of negative thoughts and feelings surging around inside her at all times.

At press time, Harrison announced plans to take a tense late night walk around campus instead of going to sleep.
