According to a recent statement from the office of the president, Christina Paxson affirmed that she stands in solidarity with all the students she had arrested.
“Taking action in the name of social justice is a core element of Brown’s mission,” wrote Paxson, frantically calling the Providence police department to ensure every protester is escorted off the premises by armed police officers. “I stand alongside any student brave enough to make their voice heard.”
“Following in the tradition of some of history’s great civil rights leaders, Brown is committed to supporting the practice of peaceful protest on campus,” added Paxson, peeking through the blinds in her office to make sure all the 19 year olds she called the cops on had been thrown in the back of squad cars. “I want to reiterate my support for all of our passionate student activists.”
“Speaking truth to power is an important pillar of both Brown’s and my own personal philosophy,” continued Paxson, commending the unwavering conviction of all the students she had arrested. “I’m writing to reaffirm that guiding principle today.”
At press time Christina Paxson conveyed her deep admiration for all the striking graduate TAs she refused to negotiate with.
