According to his children this Christmas, area dad Dave Hammond is also surprised about what is inside the gift labeled “From Mom and Dad.”
“Huh! Would you look at that! What a nice train set!” Hammond announced, eyes widening with just as much shock as his son at the newly unveiled gift. “You like trains, right Bud? Mom and Dad always know what to get you.”
“That’s a pretty big gift. Bring it here so I can see it,” continued Hammond, squinting to read the box of the train set he had surely seen before since, according to the name tag, it is from him. “Wow, look Bud, it comes with 164 pieces, seven automatic trains, and 20 feet of track! What do ya say we set this thing up in the basement after breakfast? Wait, do the trains need batteries? I don’t suppose your mom and I got you batteries with this, did we?”
At press time, Hammond was staring bewildered at the egg-filled Easter baskets he also did not prepare for his children.
