Sources all along 16th Street reported that New York Times op-ed columnist David Brooks was still out there yelling things.
“I guess old Brooks is still out and about yelling about tax incentives and the imaginary middle," said one passerby, shaking her head ruefully. “I figured he’d have cut it out by now.”
According to neighbors and shop owners, Brooks has been spending several days a week outside loudly promoting white people and sexism for close to 10 years—though some said that they couldn’t remember a time when the columnist’s murmurings weren’t constantly floating in through windows.
“I almost wonder if I would miss it,” said another pedestrian. “It’s just sort of become part of my routine.”
At press time, Brooks was reportedly sitting right down in the middle of the road with Maureen Dowd to shout about the times they tried weed.
