After signing a lease and putting down the security deposit on the ‘Sun House,’ an entire friend group — and Caroline too — express their excitement about finally being able to live all together.
“It is so exciting! We are still deciding roommates, but, honestly, I almost don’t care who I room with!” housemate Sarah states, who feels entirely relieved ever since Caroline agreed to sleep on the couch in the living room as per condition of her cohabitation. “I love practically all these people with my entire heart!”
“We will throw fun parties and all cook together — it’s going to be so much fun!” continues Sarah who could not even recognize Caroline on a street, let alone imagine her hanging out with them in their future apartment. “It does totally suck that Ashley can’t live with us because she’s studying abroad in the fall, but it’s nice that we got Clara to fill in!"
“Yeah, my other housing plans fell through, but I am not too upset. I feel really lucky to have met this group of girls,” says Caroline, basing her judgment after a 30-minute lunch she had with two of her future housemates. “I can’t wait! I think I really lucked out.”
Three weeks after moving in, Caroline and her housemates do not speak, only sharing brief acknowledgments of presence when in passing.
