While introducing a presentation in an English seminar last week, Professor John Pettibone reportedly Adele Dazeem’d ethnic student Amina Khalafallah again.
“And now, to present on Faulkner’s The Sound and the Fury, we have Antonin Kalahari,” said Professor Pettibone, mangling his student’s name in a way reminiscent of John Travolta’s infamous intro of Idina Menzel at the 2014 Oscars. “Anime Calabasas, get on up here.”
“I just had to pretend like everything was normal,” said Khalafallah, mirroring Idina Menzel’s response to being misnamed before singing “Let it Go” at the Oscars. “I had to give the presentation like nothing happened.”
“I get that it’s not a super common name in this country,” said Khalafallah of her name which was distorted by her professor to an extent only rivaled by John Travolta speaking directly to millions of viewers seven years ago. “I don’t understand why he soldiered on like he knew what he was doing instead of just asking me how it was pronounced.”
At press time, Khalafallah and the celebrity kids in her class posed for a selfie that broke the Internet.
