A local family is reportedly relieved to hear that Grandpa forgot Grandpa’s birthday too.
“Thank God, that was a close one,” said Wendy Morgan, watching her newly 81-year-old father go about his day as usual. “My dad’s usually not one to forget, and we aren’t either! Well, mostly. It’s a good thing we all forgot at the same time, though.”
“He’d be so heartbroken if he knew that we forgot. But he doesn’t know, so let’s keep it that way,” continued Wendy, instructing her children to be the regular amount of disrespectful and emotionally distant from their grandfather today. “In fact, flip the calendar to next month. Quick, before he notices!”
At press time, Grandpa actually remembered his birthday, but didn’t want to bother these nice strangers in his house by telling them.
