"Friendly Reminder” Email Openly Antagonistic

Published Friday, March 6th, 2020

An email sent out on Tuesday, whose first line began with the phrase “Friendly reminder” actually turned out to be openly antagonistic, sources report.

The email was sent by Janet Fletcher ‘22 to her Organic Chemistry study group, all of whom had previously agreed to fill out a When2Meet to schedule the group’s regular study sessions — but many of whom had failed to do so, according to the overtly hostile email Fletcher sent.

“The ‘friendly reminder’ made me think the email would be passive aggressive at best,” said Bianca Wright ‘22, a fellow member of the study group. “But it quickly devolved into extremely explicit threats that we all needed to fill out the When2Meet ASAP, or else.”

“At first the email seemed pretty friendly,” added Jackson Quan ‘21, another study group member. “But by midway through the second paragraph, it became clear that she would violently eject us from the study group if we didn’t heed her requests.”

At press time, Fletcher was using a sparkling baby blue gel pen to draft a startlingly hostile note to her roommate.
