Google Unveils Google.Com/Search

Published Friday, December 6th, 2013

In a long-awaited announcement at last night’s Google I/O Conference, the search engine giant announced the development of Google.Com/Search, a one-stop search engine portal for users’ searching needs.

“Google.Com/Search allows users to search the Internet by entering a series of keywords,” said Head Systems Engineer Todd Lambert, who has led the development of Google.Com/Search. “Google.Com/Search offers a powerful searching functionality that web pages like Bing.Com, Dogpile.Com, and Google.Com just can’t match.”

“That’s G-O-O-G-L-E-dot-C-O-M-slash-S-E-A-R-C-H,” added Lambert. “Make sure you type in the whole thing or you could end up at Google.Com, a different web page.”

Early reviews have been largely positive. “It’s been a while since Google came out with a new web page,” said Harold Berg in a Wired review. “Google.Com/Search is great for searching the ’net, and it was definitely a savvy move by the boys in Silicon Valley, where Google is.” Others criticized the webpage, saying that the URL took much longer to type in than Google.Com because of the six extra characters, seven if you count the slash.

“And the best part?” said Lambert. “Each search only costs two dollars.”
