Enthusiastically shouting at the person controlling the speaker to “Hit it, DJ,” gets the people going in all scenarios but work, local funeral director, Stu Morrison, has learned.
“It’s always been my social role to get people stoked on whatever it is we’re doing. It worked so well transitioning the barbecue to a dance party, or at my cousin Riley’s wedding,” said Morrison, avoiding eye contact as the family members of the deceased shuffled out of the venue. “This time though, I feel like I made a really big mistake.”
“I couldn’t have been more upset with the way the service was run. This was completely inappropriate for a funeral,” said Benjamin Moore, family of the deceased, blotting his eyes with a handkerchief. “No the DJ should not ‘Hit it,’ and no, I’m not going to ‘Throw my hands in the air like I just don’t care.’"
At press time, Morrison also learned it's not appropriate to drag race in the hearse.
