Noting that each friend has a different patch of hair on his face, students told reporters that if Mike Harbaugh ’16 and his friends put their facial hair together it would probably make a full beard.
“Mike has those weird sideburns and Terry has that patch on the bottom of his chin,” said Tom Toppard ‘16. “Throw in Rick’s handlebar mustache and Dan’s cheek fuzz and you’ll pretty much get the full thing. What a world.”
Most who notice the phenomenon attribute it to chance, though others think the friends purposely chose one another because of their puzzle-like facial hair. “If I had weird facial hair like that I’d want to hang out with other people who had weird facial hair," said Mike Sampson ’18. "It’s just human nature.”
“I don’t really have time to shave,” Mike and all his friends said when asked. “Plus, each of us knows that if we took each of our half-beards and put it onto one persons’ face it’d look like an adult man’s beard. This is all we talk about when we hang out.”
At press time, passersby mentioned that if everyone in the group put their legs together they’d probably run very fast.
