Jeb Bush Polling Poorly Among New Hampshire's Hispanic Voter

Published Friday, December 4th, 2015

The results of a New Hampshire poll released Monday suggested that Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush is currently faring poorly among Timothy Rodriguez, 35, the state’s Hispanic voter.

The news has prompted political analysts nationwide to question Bush’s footing in the primaries, especially because Rodriguez’s status as the only Hispanic voter in the critical early-primary state means that the meaning of his vote will be extrapolated to represent an entire demographic.

“Bush hasn’t really wowed me on any hot-button issues like immigration or gun policy, and his debate performance has been lackluster at best,” Rodriguez said in a press conference. “Honestly, I haven’t followed his campaign super closely, but I’m just not that impressed."

“Jeb cares a great deal about implementing policy that will improve the lives of hardworking New Hampshire residents and of all Americans, especially Mr. Rodriguez,” the Bush campaign wrote in a statement. “Jeb will continue to listen to and fight for New Hampshire’s Hispanic.”

Rodriguez, who said he is not yet convinced he will vote in the primary, also added that it was weird that he was being asked all this.
