Marvel Executives Excited To Waste James Spader’s Talents On Another Forgettable Villain

Published Friday, April 24th, 2015

In a statement released last week, executives at Marvel expressed their rabid anticipation to squander James Spader’s remarkable voice and considerable acting talents on another Marvel movie villain without understandable motivations, who only exists to destroy New York City yet again.

“Mr. Spader has an immediately recognizable voice, and getting him on board for the next Avengers movie was an enormous win for us,” the statement read. “There’s no one else we can imagine playing the voice for Ultron, our newest single-minded foil to Robert Downey Jr.”

Spader follows distinguished actors Jeff Bridges and Hugo Weaving in taking up the mask of a villain that, while seemingly menacing, poses no actual threat to the Avengers once they decide to stop being babies and actually work as a team, according to Marvel Studio President Kevin Feige.

“We can’t wait for James’ character to make a menacing entrance in Act I, only to be made a fool of by The Hulk later in the film," said Feige. “He really has the chops to bring the necessary gravitas to a role that will be remembered by exactly two people who see the film.”

At press time, Feige was acting out all the explosions in the film and talking about how cool it was going to be for The Hulk to fight Iron Man for a full 45 minutes.
