Mother-Daughter Relationship Hits All Time High After Seeing Wicked Together

Published Friday, September 15th, 2017

After going to see the touring company of Wicked at the Providence Performing Arts Center, Michelle Torrance’s relationship with her daughter Catherine hit an all time high.

“Catherine’s fourteen now and a lot of her friends went to see it with their moms so I thought it would be a good time for us to go and see it together,” explained Michelle before the show. “It seems like a rite of passage.”

An hour and a half later, sources report that Michelle felt closer to her daughter than she had in years as they both laughed along to "Popular."

“At intermission, my mom and I had a really nice conversation about how being in eighth grade sometimes feels like being Elphaba in Munchkinland,” said Catherine. “She was really listening to what I was saying and she bought me a soft pretzel from the concession stand. Watching 'Defying Gravity' was amazing but I think that talk with my mom might have been the best part of the whole show.”

Following the performance, Michelle reported that the bond she had with her daughter felt irreversibly strengthened after listening to Glinda and Elphaba sing “For Good” together. Both were buzzing so much after the show that they decided to wait for the cast to come outside and sign their Playbills. According to those close to the family, the two will probably chase the high of meeting the actress who played Glinda for years to come.

At press time, Catherine and Michelle were belting out the soundtrack together on the ride home.
