Viewers of teen movie The Cyberspace Between Us report that the nerd character is literally hacking the school-wide computer system just to stop a basketball game.

“Okay, just one more quick thing,” said nerd Eric Mertz while typing several complicated lines of code just to stop the JV boys basketball warmup. “We’re in.”

“Firewall is down, almost there,” said Mertz, scrambling to dismantle the district’s entire server just so Daniella, the art geek, could ask Jason, the basketball team, captain to prom. “Aaaand… booyah. Good work, boys. Mission accomplished.”

At press time, Mertz literally locked the janitor in a closet so he wouldn’t rat them out.
