OMAC Tells Us about the Treasure

Published Friday, December 1st, 2006

"A live studio audience gathered today at Pizzitola Gymnasium for the highly anticipated unveiling of the whereabouts of OMAC's latest treasure.

This new artifact, identified to be the Ruby-Encrusted Boom-Boom Stick of Guy Fawkes, is the first relic to be discovered in OMAC's hidden temple in over 11 years. The artifact was found in the temple under ""pits of dense foam and shards of broken clay,"" according to head archeologist and hidden temple expert Kirk Fogg. ""The pots,"" continued Fogg, ""were probably used to store keys, and consequently were smashed in order to unlock temple doors.""

The Hidden Temple was notorious for claiming the lives of young, hopeful explorers in its myriad rooms, each complete with its own mysterious challenge. Only Fogg, far too old to explore the temple himself, could claim to know all the inner workings of the temple. He now guides teams working under his supervision to the treasure. ""I'm here to teach these kids how to explore OMAC's temple and get out with the treasure alive,"" said Fogg, ""Some of these rooms are unbelievably baffling. That damn silver monkey. so many good men.,"" he trailed off. When pressed further about the enigmatic ""silver monkey,"" Fogg declined to comment, his eyes misty with tears.

After Fogg's introduction, OMAC-a legend in his own right-began telling the legend of Guy Fawkes's Ruby-Encrusted Boom-Boom Stick.

""On the night of November the 5th, 1605, Guy Fawkes plotted to destroy Parliament. His plan, however, was thwarted when he was betrayed, and Fawkes was hanged at the gallows for high treason. Although the Parliamentary forces captured him and destroyed his explosives, they never found his Ruby-Encrusted detonator, known only as his Boom-Boom Stick. His accomplice, Robert Catesby, recovered the Stick and three days later, when Catesby died, the stick was thought to be lost forever. The Boom-Boom Stick has made its way into the temple and can be found in the Jester's Court.""

Following OMAC's thunderous presentation, the excavation teams, their excitement palpable, tried to determine who would enter the temple. Chris, the team leader of the Purple Parrots, shouted at reporters, ""I haven't been this excited since I went to Space Camp!"" Rachel, the team leader of the Silver Snakes, soon joined in the shouting and could be heard repeating, ""Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, it's the temple, oh my gosh.""

In the end, OMAC and Fogg would only be satisfied by the Red Jaguars digging team, which was selected to enter the temple to recover the Boom-Boom Stick. ""I think I'll go up the stairs to start, and then sort of, you know, play it by ear,"" said Justin, leader of the two-man team. ""You never know which doors are going to open up, you know? You always have to, like, think on your feet and go with whichever one unlocks."" The ancient Mayan temple guards could not be reached for comment."
