As he took the field at Baltimore’s Camden Yards, Toronto Blue Jays center fielder Colby Rasmus informed the teammates that he sure hoped the baseball wouldn’t just up and bonk him on the head. “Hope I don’t get a bump on the noggin from that darn ball,” Rasmus said as he nervously awaited the first pitch, unconsciously covering his skull in anticipation. “[Blue Jays right fielder Jose] Bautista told me one time the ball donked him on the head and it hurt so bad! Gotta be extra careful to watch out for fly balls. I hate this sport.” As of press time Rasmus had been clonked by a liner to the belly.
