Overworked Emotional Support Animal Takes “Me Week”

Published Friday, September 15th, 2017

Exhausted from providing a full year’s worth of therapeutic visits and petting sessions, emotional support dog Scuppers is embarking on a week just for herself.

“Caring for others is tough work,” says Scuppers’ trainer and spokesperson Faye Anderson. “Scuppers found it important to take a week to recharge her spiritual batteries and rediscover her own self worth.”

Already three days into her “me week,” the Cocker Spaniel mix has taken her closest friends for a spa day and splurged on guilty pleasure dog treats. She plans to use her remaining time to try out some new hobbies, including fetch and chasing squirrels.

“We hope Scupper’s own ‘treat yourself’ outlook will carry over into her social work,” says Anderson. “Mental and physical health is an investment for dogs in the industry – what says ‘you deserve the world’ better than rejuvenated, freshly moisturized puppy eyes?”

Sources close to Scuppers report she is already looking into tickets for next year’s “Spring Retreat” in St. Kitts.
