PawSox Move To Worcester Devastates Team’s Fan

Published Friday, September 13th, 2019

The beloved minor league Pawtucket Red Sox, or PawSox, have ended their time in Pawtucket, and are moving on to a new home in Worcester, Massachusetts. The news comes as a shock to the team’s devoted fanbase: area man John Kenley, 42.

“I can’t believe they’re really moving,” Kenley said, recalling the many years he spent cheering his team on from the bleachers. “My dad used to take me to PawSox games when I was just a kid. He’d drop me off and I’d go in alone. I’ve done the same for every game since.”

“I’m gonna miss those tense moments where the game is on the line, and the stadium is silent,” he continued. “Or that incredible crowd energy after a home run, where the stadium is also silent.”

The owners of the PawSox expressed sorrow in a bittersweet statement to their supporter. “We’re deeply sorry to say goodbye to our devoted fan here in Pawtucket. John, we hope you’ll be able to join us up in Worcester every so often, because our games will be all too quiet without your support.”

The team also announced that the ticket for the first Worcester game would go on sale on Tuesday.
