Earlier today, the President approved a bill that would send an aid package of $6 billion and NBA superstar LeBron James to Ukraine.
“The conflict in Ukraine has become a dire situation, and neither the United States nor the Los Angeles Lakers can stand by and allow it to worsen. Our past support efforts have not been enough. It is clear that now is the time to send a real game-changer,” read a joint press release from the White House and Lakers front office, citing the the 4-time MVP’s longevity and advanced stats. “After 21 years dominating the most elite league in the world, we have the utmost confidence in James as he begins his new chapter in Europe. We hope his abilities as a floor general and 3-level scorer will aid Ukraine in her fight for freedom.”
“I am excited to announce that I’ll be taking my talents to Ukraine,” said James in a tweet containing both #thekidfromAKRON and the Ukrainian flag. “They’re a great organization whose leadership I deeply admire, and I am grateful for this opportunity to compete.”
The 19-time All Star will be making his debut for Ukraine later this year and will have to defend against perhaps his toughest challenge since the 2018 Golden State Warriors. James, however, says he’s not worried.
“I’ve faced a lot of adversity in my career. Why should I start worrying now?” James asked reporters while autographing customized ‘James 23’ flak vests and combat boots. “I’ve never run from the grind before, and I don’t intend to start now. All I’m worried about is if I’ll look good in blue and yellow.”
At press time, your uncle claimed prime Jordan would’ve ended this war by now.
