According to a recent report from the family dinner table, Grandma didn’t mean it like that.
“Come on, sweetheart, you know Grandma just says those things sometimes,” area mother Christine Wilkins said to her daughter. “But she’s your grandma, so you have to be nice to her. She’s from a different generation, and it’s all she knows.”
“Honey, please, Grandma didn’t mean any harm by calling you that,” continued Wilkins, assuring her daughter that Grandma only says those things because she’s had a difficult past. “Grandma just wants the best for you, and that’s her way of expressing it.”
At press time, Wilkins was explaining that Uncle Dan meant that as a compliment.
