Report: ‘Marco Polo’ Much Faster If Played In Bathtub

Published Friday, May 2nd, 2025

According to a recent MIT study, the classic swimming game Marco Polo is much faster if played inside of a bathtub. “After thousands of trials, our team has concluded that it is easier to blindly locate other players in a body of water if that body of water is very small,” noted soaking-wet engineering professor Mitchell Kovacic while sporting a pair of swim goggles and adult floaties. “More precisely, if the body of water is small enough that all players are constantly in contact, it is very difficult for the non-seekers to evade detection. Thank you again to our team of engineers, mathematicians, and analysts—each with very expensive degrees that took several years to acquire. We wouldn’t have been able to make this breakthrough without everyone’s tireless efforts.” At press time, a new MIT report added that Hide and Seek is much faster if played inside a broom closet.
