While dining at the Flatbread Company, restaurant goer Jeremy Rosenstein momentarily considered joining a happy birthday chorus at a nearby table.
“This big procession of waiters approached the table next to mine with a candle and they all started gleefully singing Happy Birthday,” recounted Rosenstein. “The atmosphere was contagious so I flirted with the idea of joining in on the chorus. It could have been such a wholesome way to celebrate a special moment. But then again, I didn’t know the guy.”
“When a man at another table joined in, I was tempted," Rosenstein continued. "But I couldn’t tell if the guy was part of the same party and I also didn’t want to call attention to myself. Anyway, then the song was over and everyone started clapping so the opportunity had passed.”
As the clapping died down, Rosenstein’s friend mischievously revealed that he had told the waiter it was Rosenstein’s birthday too.
