Picking up two menus from her hostess stand and smiling at the mother and son that just walked through the door, Red Robin hostess Sarah Mackey politely asked them if they’d prefer a booth or a table, as if she didn’t already know what the answer would be. “When given the option between booth or table,” reported Mackey, starting to walk toward an open booth before even hearing the family’s answer, “I’ve never had someone choose table. Occasionally, people will pick a seat at the bar over a booth but never a table. With the comfier seats and the extra room to spread out, it’s really a no-brainer.” At press time, the family’s waiter asked whether they wanted the check or the dessert menu as if he didn’t already have the check ready in his apron.
