In its latest issue, food magazine Bon Appetit has released its top snack recommendation for 2021: a quick and simple charcuterie board, perfect for when you’re just in the mood for kalamata olives, hunks of parmesan cheese, whole wheat rosemary crackers, black olives, tangerine marmalade, prosciutto, whole figs, apple slices, toasted brie with cranberries and walnuts, dried apricots, aged manchego cheese, red pepper jam, wasabi peas, thinly sliced strawberries, and a whole baguette. “After work, I get hungry, but I don’t want to spoil my dinner,” explained Bon Appetit writer Molly Bloom. “That’s when I reach for my go-to snack: a plank of wood with upwards of 30 things on it.” Elsewhere in the issue, Bloom recommended jazzing up the simple snack by adding a round of smoked gouda, a bowl of cornichons, smoked capicola, pitted plums, nova lox, sprigs of thyme for fragrance, artichoke hearts, crème fraîche, capers, beef carpaccio, blueberry lavender jam, duck liver pate, salt-preserved lemons, satutéed hen of the woods mushrooms, black garlic, raspberries, and an entire rotisserie chicken.
