According to reports, two local students stuck in elevator are waiting to see if they have romantic chemistry before pressing the “help” button.
“The elevator stopped so suddenly, and I was about to press the ‘help’ button, but then I realized the guy in the elevator was kinda cute,” said Cindy Garrison, admiring the trapped stranger’s height and twinkling, concerned eyes. “I mean, I didn’t want to hurt his feelings by pressing the button too eagerly. Plus, the button wasn’t going anywhere, and I could always press it if the date, I mean, our conversation started going poorly. Besides, he was going to the 12th floor of the SciLi, which is my favorite floor! And he said he had a CS project to work on, and I took a CS class once! We had so much in common.”
“His phone didn’t have service in the elevator, so he asked to borrow mine to call for help,” said Garrison, handing over her phone with the contacts app opened and a new contact started. “Dating apps just don’t have the same effect as in-person connection. I am ready to foster authentic, natural chemistry again, and what faster way than enduring shared trauma?”
At press time, a pool lifeguard was waiting to see if the drowning person was cute before jumping in to save them.
