Sophomore Emma Jeffries spent this past Thursday’s ENGL 0180 discussion section hoping someone else would say something dumb.
“My comments about the speaker’s mother and her relationship to the industrial revolution were just so jumbled,” sighed Jeffries, desperately scanning the room for someone who looked like they might be a bit stupid. “I mean, I just really need someone to distract from my comment right now.”
“I think Bryan has the potential to say something a little dumb,” continued Jeffries, praying one of her peers would make a fool of themselves. “It doesn’t look like he highlighted anything in the reading and last week he just rephrased what Evan said.”
At press time, Jeffries was waiting to post her weekly response on Canvas until a classmate first posted a stupid one.
